A trip to the snow

Last weekend, we drove up to the mountains to play in the snow. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we found a great place to play that didn't have a huge crowd!

After some sledding, it was time to build a snowman. Ayden was sure to grab a carrot, some raisins, and a scarf so we could make a proper snowman. Unfortunately, the snow was very powdery and it was almost impossible to make a snowball, let alone a snowman. Luckily, I am married to a very resourceful man and he found chunks of ice/snow that were already there and made those work for our snowman.

A visit with the cousins...

We got a chance to visit with Sarah, John, Gerret & Anneke for another day before they headed back to Texas on New Year's Day. Ayden had so much fun playing with his cousins and soaking up all the attenion. The kids played wii for hours!

This was Ayden trying to wake up Gerret, Anneke wanted some cuddle time too!

Hopefully it won't be another year and a half before we see them again this time!

Happy New Year!!

My brother & sister-in-law threw a huge New Year's Eve Bash! It was a 1920's theme casino night. There was blackjack, roulette, and poker. We had so much fun!!!

Camping for Christmas

We were so excited that Ken's sister, Sarah, and our niece Anneke and nephew Gerret were able to come visit from Texas for Christmas! On the 26th, Ken's whole family headed over, pulling trailers, to camp at Sunset Beach. We could not have had better weather and enjoyed playing on the beach, relaxing, and watching Ayden have fun with his cousins!

Everyone thought we were crazy for taking all three kids, but we had a secret weapon - the DVD player. The movie ended just as we were pulling in the campground, which made for a very peaceful car ride.
