Halloween!

On the day before Halloween, Uncle Matthew and Aunt Dominique took Ayden to their church's Carnival.  He had so much fun and came home with candy and lots of stories about the fun games

Our October was a little busy, so we didn't get a chance to carve our pumpkins and Halloween snuck up on us.  Luckily, we had some decorations that did not involve carving, since our pumpkins had gone a little soft.

Our spiderman was all ready for trick or treating until it came time to leave.  He wanted to stay home with Daddy and pass out candy.  About every three houses, he asked to go home.  It was so funny, I kept asking myself how many parents of five year old have to persuade their kids to continue trick or treating!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

I was able ot take the day off of work to go along on Ayden's field trip to the pumpkin patch.  It was a beautiful day and he had so much fun - there was a train ride, hay ride, picking out his pumpkin, a pig race,and a petting zoo!  A busy, fun-filled morning!

Our "Real" Cowboy

At the end of October, our whole family went up to Red Bluff for my cousins's engagement party.  Melissa's fiance, Christopher, is Ayden's idol!  He is a firefighter, which Ayden is fascinated with.  Well, after the engagement party, he loves him even more.  Christopher let Ayden wear his cowboy hat and also helped him ride on his parents' horses.  The quotes coming out of Ayden were hilarious...a few that I can remember:

"I'm a real cowboy, at your service"

"What about the little lady?" (referring to a little girl at the party)

The swagger in his walk and the smile on his face are something we will remember for a long, long time!!

Big Changes...

We have some big changes coming to our house next spring!  We told Ayden about his new brother or sister at the beginning of October.  I bought a "BIG BROTHER" shirt and gave it to him as a present.  We got it all on video!

Ayden calls the baby "gummy bear" since that's how big he/she was when we told him. This is "gummy bear" at 12 weeks.

Since we need some of the furniture from Ayden's room for the baby's room, we decided to re-do Ayden's room, just in time for his birthday.  He had lot of fun helping Daddy paint and help to pick out the new items for his room. 

We've still got a few finishing touches for his room, but for the most part, it's done, and looks great!  I will post pictures one of these days when it's clean!

Five Years Old!

I can't even believe it.  It's hard to say out loud.  I have a five-year-old!  These days Ayden is maturing more and more every day, then reverting back to toddler-hood every once in a while by throwing fits.  It's hard not to get your way.  He has been enjoying Kindergarten for a couple months now and is learning to read, add, he knows the pledge of allegience by heart, can sing a bunch of different patriotic songs, and comes home with  new facts for me every day.  He has been counting down the days until his birthday and can't wait to have fun with his friends. 

Last week we had his five year pictures taken and his one request was that he get to have a picture in his Halloween costume.  Easy enough...
