Ring Man

I've finally got my camera back so here are a few pics from my mom's wedding. I don't have mny because everything was so busy, but here are a few - more to come when we get the professional ones.

The Ring Man!
Ayden wouldn't walk down the aisle to be the "ring man" (as he called it). My mom tried to get him to walk with her and hold her hand, but all I heard was "I just want my mommy." So, in the end, he job was just to be cute for pictures. Maybe part of the problem was that he didn't get a nap. Which also explains why on the way to the reception he fell asleep with his hand in the bag of goldfish. I took the "long way" to let him sleep as long as possible.

It was a great day and a fun time was had by all - congratulations Mom & Frank!

Lately, Ayden has been really getting into coloring...especially with pens. He doesn't care too much for crayons & markers, but LOVES pens.

*And he's finally holding it correctly! Thank you preschool!*

I think they've been working on cutting at school too, because all of the sudden he is able to cut things on the dotted line - I love it!

We were joking that this looks like a cell - He's a genius :) And the biggest skill of all - the letter A!! As you can see, it's still a work in progress, but at least sort of recongnizable.And we can't draw with pens without drawing all over our face, of course.

We had a pizza and movie night the other night and let Ayden eat on the floor, watching the movie (he thought this was the best thing ever!) Despite the blanket, he still managed to make a mess, of course!Ken snuck up on Ayden with the video camera, it's so funny to see the moment that he realizes he's being taped.

Movie Monday

I finally got my act together and videotaped all of the cute things that Ayden has been doing lately.

The parallel and perpendicular thing came about when I used the word "perpendicular" while we were on vacation. He asked "what does that mean?" so Ken jokingly showed him with his hands the difference between parallel and perpendicular....Well, it stuck because he says it all the time. I just love the cute way he says it. We use this "trick" to impress people and make Ayden look like a genius....HA!

They have been learning nursery rhymes at school the last couple of weeks and his re-telling of them is hilarious! They even got to go on a field trip to Fairytale Town in Sacramento. I couldn't take the day off work, so I don't have any pictures of the field trip :(

ABC's and 123's...

We've been saying this good night prayer (with the help of his little prayer "lambie" stuffed animal) ever since he was born and about a month ago he said he wanted to say by himself, and he has every night since!

The Beach and More...

What's a visit to San Diego without a trip to the beach?

Ayden & Anneke must have made 30 trips back and forth to the water to fill up the buckets, just to dump the water into a big hole that, of course, soaked up the water almost instantly. It kept them busy and gave the adults some much needed relaxation time!I think this is only one of the reasons that there is still sand embedded into his rash guard...Gerret was very proud of his sand castle creation!

Sea World

Yes, I know we've been back from vacation for two weeks - but I still have pictures to share....in my spare time - in addition to starting the school year, getting ready for Back to School Night and all the other fun day-to-day stuff...

Ayden waited in line for more than 1/2 an hour to go in this bouncy area. Most of that time he was in line by himself because they had the kids get in a separate line from the parents. He was so patient, I couldn't believe it!He had fun bouncing for the whole two minutes that was his groups' turn. It was definitely not worth the time it took to wait in line, but oh well, he had a blast! He wanted to play with the "atar" he found in the arcade. Can you tell it was getting late - you can see the little pink cheeks and tell how tired he was here

Waiting for the late late Shamu Show (we brough along the Shamu that we bought him last time we were there so we wouldn't have to buy him another souvenir!)Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Mommy's phone was a big hit to get him to sit still for the 45 minutes we had to wait before the show. He was so tired. At one point, he was all cuddled up on my lap and he said, "I'm going to sleep mommy, wake me up to see the fireworks" It was so cute! He didn't actually fall asleep, but he fell asleep almost instantly when we put him in the stroller to walk to the car after the showShamu (and someone else)
